Today we are going to talk about the Apothecare difference: a free delivery pharmacy with patient centred care.

Apothecare’s highly trained and experienced pharmacists are here to answer all of your questions with over twenty years combined pharmaceutical experience.

In this post we’ll explain what sets Apothecare apart from the rest. So let’s get started.

free pharmacy delivery

Apothecare is your free delivery pharmacy in the Kitchener-Waterloo region

Free Delivery Pharmacy

Unlike many other pharmacies, Apothecare is a free delivery pharmacy. That means that we will bring your prescriptions to you free of charge.

A Free Delivery Pharmacy Will Save You Time: Your time is valuable so we don’t want you to waste any of it waiting in a long pharmacy lineup. That’s why we’ll bring your medication right to your home on the same day that you order it, so you can use your time on something even more important.

A Free Delivery Pharmacy Will Save You Money: Not only is our delivery service FREE but you will also save on the cost of going to the pharmacy yourself. Making unnecessary trips in your vehicle costs you gas and wear and tear. Over time, each extra trip really adds up. Save that money and spend it on something to treat yourself.

A Free Delivery Pharmacy Means You Can Get Better Faster: With free home delivery, you can stay at home and concentrate on getting better. The last thing you want to do when you are feeling rough is to get out, travel to a store, and wait in line for your medicine. You also don’t want to be going out when you are already sick and risk catching something else.

A Free Delivery Pharmacy Means You Will Get Your Medication Faster: If you order your prescriptions through Apothecare you will get fast, same-day delivery. You won’t have to wait for your medication. This is great news, especially if you have accidentally forgotten to get a refill and you need to take your medication that same day.

Other Great Services Apothecare Offers

In addition to being a free delivery pharmacy, Apothecare also provide some excellent additional health and well-being services.

INR Monitoring

If you are on long-term or lifetime anti-coagulation therapy, we provide INR Monitoring. A simple finger prick is all that is needed to complete the test. We are also available to manage your dose changes based on your INR results, all of which will be shared with your family doctor or nurse.

The Quit Program

If you would like to quit smoking or have tried on your own and are having trouble, we’d love to help. Our program is designed to help people in the Kitchener-Waterloo region quit through a personalized plan offering nicotine replacement therapy, prescription medication, side effect management, and follow-up support to help you be successful.

Our program offers support for one year and includes at least 8 follow up visits, however it can be adjusted depending on your particular needs. Most of the follow will occur in the first 3 to 4 months as this is the most difficult time to get through.

Diabetes Education

If you or a family member is struggling with diabetes, we can help you to reach your goals. Our pharmacist, Neil Malhotra is a Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) who is always ready to answer any questions you have related to your diabetes and he’s willing to assist you in reaching your goals. If you are wondering if the medication you are taking is necessary, ask Neil. He’ll provide you with the advice and answers you need.

Pharmacogenetic Testing

Pharmacogenetic testing is done to determine which medication will work best for you. Not every medication works the same on every person; the same medication can have different effects in different people. By testing some of your genes, we can predict how your body will respond to different medications.

To do a pharmacogenetic test, we will take a swab inside your cheeks to collect a sample of cells to send to a lab for testing. This test will check your ability to break down, clear, and activate different medications.

Ask our pharmacists a question

“Pharmacist Neil is a Certified Diabetes Educator. Under his guidance I’ve learned to manage my blood sugar significantly better in full coordination with my Family Doctor. I now control my diabetes instead of it controlling me. He and pharmacist Michael are always friendly and open to answering my questions. I always feel welcomed when I go to Apothecare.” – Gary L.
